March is the best month to sell your home.

The spring home buying season is here and many of my clients ask me when the best time is to put their home on the market…

The simple answer. March, here’s why…

1. 50% of the real estate transactions happen in May, June, July and August. This means the buyers of those homes wrote an offer in March.

2. Home buyers want to purchase their home early in the year to have all summer to do home renovation projects. 

3. Home buyers want to be in their new home before school starts. This is why we see home buyer activity dramatically drop off after labor day.

4. Competition. As you can see below, people who list their home in March will have far less homes to compete with vs. those that list last in the summer.
